| | 12
Saving This Website
|
| | 13 |
| | 14
This website was originally only hosted on my Luan server and source kept on my Mercurial hosting service. But since programming is hopeless and all modern scum programmers hate my software, I have to assume that these hosting options will disappear. So to save this website, I have to make it independent of my software.
|
| | 15 |
| | 16
This website was first implemented in Luan. I have made this website purely HTML, CSS, and Javascript. In other words, everything runs in the browser. This eliminates the dependency on Luan.
|
| | 17 |
| | 18
Next I needed backup web hosting and Mercurial hosting. I chose Netlify for backup web hosting and Repository Hosting for Mercurial. Finding Mercurial hosting was a nightmare.
|
| | 19 |
| | 20
To keep this site alive, I added a membership requirement to keep a copy of this site. I added a web page about this website. And I added a private website containing passwords and other private info. With access to these things, any Arkian should be able to keep this website alive.
|
